Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund
The Virginia Brownfields Restoration and Economic Redevelopment Assistance Fund (VBAF) was established to provide either grants or loans to local governments to promote the restoration and redevelopment of brownfield sites and to address environmental problems or obstacles to reuse so that these sites can be effectively marketed to new economic development prospects.
Applications for FY18 VBAF Site Assessment and Planning Grants are currently being accepted on an ongoing basis. The maximum grant award for Site Assessment and Planning Grants is $50,000.
The Virginia General Assembly has allocated an additional $1.5 million from the general fund for FY 2018 Site Remediation Grants. A new competitive round of VBAF Site Remediation Grants is now underway with applications due on October 2, 2017. The maximum grant award for Site Remediation Grants is $500,000.
