MAJOR EMPLOYMENT and INVESTMENT (MEI) PROJECT SITE PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is pleased to announce the availability of $5 million in grant funds under the MEI Project Site Planning Grant Fund Program. Authorized by the 2010 General Assembly, this program is intended to assist political subdivisions of the Commonwealth with planning for and preparation of sites suitable for the location of economic development mega projects which would be expected to have substantial direct economic impacts on communities and surrounding areas. Due to funding limitations in this initial year, only political subdivisions within the service area of the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission will be eligible to apply for grants. The deadline for receipt of grant applications is October 1, 2010.
